Overview
St. Charles Parish Public Schools consistently ranks among the best school systems in Louisiana and across the nation. Visually Speaking has enjoyed a healthy relationship with this amazing organization for 20+ years. The commitment St. Charles Parish Public Schools has to the community it serves is symbiotic. It’s an honor and a challenge to bring fresh creative every year to the community outreach efforts of this progressive public school system.
Visually Speaking supports the St. Charles Parish Public School System in print, environmental graphics, social media, OOH, and many other creative projects.
The school year of 2025-2026 marks the 19th year of Visually Speaking working with St. Charles Parish Public Schools!
PROJECT:
Refresh/update logo and styles guide for St. Charles Parish Public Schools.
CRITERIA:
The original St. Charles Parish Public Schools logo was created in the late 1980s. The mark was looking dated and did not hold up well to digital media, therefore a logo refresh was requested. The original logo was deeply embedded in the floors of schools, signage and millions of documents, so the parameters for a refresh were challenging. After extensive exploration, the final logo is similar to the original, but looks more contemporary, reproduces crisply, and reads well at a small size on digital devices.

The InBox
PROJECT:
Annual InBox: Create a folder that brands the each school year and contains all of documents students need to begin classes.
CRITERIA:
Beginning in 2006 and freshly redesigned each year, The InBox contains district documents relevant to each child at the beginning of the school. The InBox also provides each student with a permanent and highly visible folder to keep school information in throughout the year.
The tag line of “You Belong Here” was made playful by a contemporary sans serif font set it multiple weights. This style was expanded on across all document in the InBox. Replacing the primary color palette of the St. Charles Parish Public School System with neon colors created a dramatic and exciting feel for the start of the school year.

Quality Profile
Student of the Year
Students work hard to achieve Student of the Year (SOY) status in St. Charles Parish and are rewarded in Hollywood fashion. It’s a true gala with students strutting down the red carpet upon entry. Posters featuring each of the students line the lobby and rotate on the big screen. These posters are also imaged as awards for the students to take home that evening. For the stage and photo prop, a large 3-D backdrop was created. SOY is a night of recognition and celebration for 12 stellar students, their parents, teachers and school board members.
Teacher of the Year
One of the most anticipated events of the school year in St. Charles Parish is the Teacher of the Year banquet. A theme is selected each year and branded/expanded upon with through the invitations, poster design, and support items for the event. Sixteen teachers are honored for excellence and dedication to their profession.
